Harmony for Humanity

The purpose of this blog was to keep students, their families, and my friends aware of what is going on in my professional life. As I begin my retirement, the purpose will change.

I grew up in a wonderful town, Harvey, Illinois and had wonderful music teachers; I attended a number of universities, but DePauw and Loyola had the most impact on me. I enjoy finding old friends from New Orleans now, especially after H. Katrina.

Wow! Summer has been Great!

We finished our piano class today! Kudos to Dr. Blackmon and her daughter along with several others who took the time to begin or continue their piano studies. We also picked up a new violinist, who zipped through the first few weeks of instruction and will be a real asset in the Intermediate Orchestra class. In the midst of all this, I had a wonderful four day holiday in New Orleans, visiting my old classmates at Loyola University. Our Chorale group went to Europe on tour 31 years ago, and we reunited once again with our beloved director and his wife, Drs. Wyatt for one more concert. It was great to sing again! I also got to see a few of my old New Orleans Youth Orchestra friends! A long drive there and back, but well worth it! Now, on to Summer Camp!
