Harmony for Humanity

The purpose of this blog was to keep students, their families, and my friends aware of what is going on in my professional life. As I begin my retirement, the purpose will change.

I grew up in a wonderful town, Harvey, Illinois and had wonderful music teachers; I attended a number of universities, but DePauw and Loyola had the most impact on me. I enjoy finding old friends from New Orleans now, especially after H. Katrina.

Final "Mid Terms" are almost complete!

Students have almost completed their playing and written assessments for the year 2008. What a joy and pleasure it was to see Mary Holloway, McEachern Class of 2008 return from college and stay awhile and visit. I'm truly glad she remembered us. Now on to tomorrow and the completion of Pinnacle entries. I wish everyone a blessed 2009!

Best wishes for the holidays and the new year

Thanks to my students for a wonderful Winter concert this year. All groups performed well, especially the Symphony Orchestra. Also, we were blessed with the "stylings" of Ms. Julie Albertson on the harp. If anyone would like a copy of the concert on CD, just send me one with your child and I will download it for you. We collected $50 for Cobb Cares, and a nice box of canned goods for Must Ministry as well. I've also been thrilled to be visited by a number of former Orchestra students who have stopped by on their break from college. It's so good to see what you look like when you're almost grown up!
