I grew up in a wonderful town, Harvey, Illinois and had wonderful music teachers; I attended a number of universities, but DePauw and Loyola had the most impact on me. I enjoy finding old friends from New Orleans now, especially after H. Katrina.

New Semester, new challenges

The students are now getting ready for the Orchestra Festival in February. We have a pre-Festival concert on the 7th, including our yearbook pictures. We perform in front of our parents as well as three local music teachers in order to get last minute comments on our performance. The three groups perform on Feb. 12-14, and fortunately, the festival is held at McEachern, so Dr. Mooney doesn't have to load 175 students on to busses! All preparations are going well, especially working on Sight Reading, so I look forward to a solid, musical performance by all groups.
